[NEW] Bandcamp Friday Roundup

3rd May 2025

Tons of pop goodies.

Happy (belated) Bandcamp Friday everyone! We got a lot of cool new stuff released yesterday. Check it out!

HindZeitgeist, new album by The Would Be's

County Cavan's best (and probably only) indie pop band is back with another album. I'm not sure how it sounds because I haven't bought it yet, but if it's anything like their previous releases then expect humorous female-fronted pop with a very unique sound. It's been released by Roundy Records, which seems to be a new label? I can't find much info on them. This album has a catalouge number of RR001 anyway.

It's great to hear some new indie pop coming out of Ireland, we've been starved of it for so long. If you feel like supporting the Would Be's, you can buy HindZeitgeist in 12" Vinyl, CD, limited edtion cassette or digital forms with prices ranging between €10 to €22, €40 for the lot.

Four new releases from Clover Records

Clover Records have treated us once again with four new digital releases from their vaults - "Cloud" by Momorien, "All The Same/S.F.B." by Comet Sun, "Little White" by Poussin* and "Live at Bobtail" by Momorien. These are two tracks, one EP and one live album. Their all pretty cool, and I'm paticularly happy to have some more old live stuff available.

Cloud is a really good song, it's originally from the Pop Jingu vol. 3 comp. I would love to have the whole Pop Jingu comps uploaded onto Bandcamp, but maybe that's too much to ask... The first comp is very special to me as it served as my introduction to j-indie pop. Also, I can't help but notice how many re-releases Momorien has been getting, Saito must be a fan!

The Comet Sun EP was of one of their old cassettes, although uniquely it was not originally from Clover's catalouge. It was released by "Playing With Fire", a label which I'm not familar with but it seems to be connected to Comet Sun as it was also based in Sakado, Saitama.

Also, obligitary "no Maples tape". One day... one day...

Check out Clover Records here! Prices range between ¥140 (£0.73, $0.97) to ¥900 (£3.64, $4.86)

They also had a discography sale on yesterday but I wrote this article too late lol. Whoops.

20% off sale at Subjangle

Jangle pop label Subjangle has started a 20% off sale on all their physical items. Simply use code "TWENTY" at checkout.

Also, not technically Bandcamp Friday, but the brilliant Crayon Cats from Indonesia released their compliation "Songs About You 1 & 2" on Thursday via Subjangle. Why not use the sale to pick up the CD?

Yellow Red Digipak from Make Me Happy Records

Make-Me-Happy have released a physical version of Greek synth/indie pop project Yellow Red's album "My Little Words". I can't comment on the album because I haven't listened to it, but Make-Me-Happy is a great label and Greece has produced some great pop. Also, digipaks are my guilty pleasure.

The digipak is available for €13
